At Island Orthodontics, we use the latest advances in technology, including digital photographs and charting, to maximize your treatment results. Using our Biometric Sign-in system with touch screen, patients can easily log in for appointments.

We offer one of the latest technological advances in dentistry with digital pan-ceph radiography (X-rays). A computer generates an image immediately as opposed to the general 4-6 minute wait time for images taken on dental film. These X-rays can also be enhanced on the computer and enlarged.

Not only are they friendly to the environment, they are much safer than traditional X-rays. Digital radiographs reduce radiation exposure by 90 percent!

We also have chairside computers that illustrate and help with patient education and understanding treatment options. For fun, we have "Who’s New/Who’s Threw" Polaroids patient boards, KidzPlace Games in the waiting room which include PSP2, Xbox, Wii, and Nintendo.

High-Tech Treatment Options

Advanced treatment options produce better results with fewer visits and shortened treatment times. In some cases, we can eliminate months of treatment time for individuals.

Our office utilizes self-ligating brackets. Self-ligating brackets use lighter wires and lower friction brackets to move teeth, while resulting in faster treatment times due to its slide mechanism, strong, mechanical base bonding and solid walls structured to control tooth movement with speed and efficiency. In addition to greater comfort, self-ligating brackets make it easier to maintain good hygiene because they are easier to keep clean. This contributes to greater health, happiness and physical attractiveness for the duration of patient treatment.

Cosmetic improvements are also on the forefront of advances in orthodontics. A popular aesthetic choice for out patients is Invisalign. Invisalign uses clear, plastic aligners created from sophisticated 3-D computer imaging technology. They are comfortable, removable and invisible! Invisalign is a popular choice for adults who are ultimately concerned about the appearance of braces during normal daily activities.
